How do I get the green and red colors in the Santa footprints?

We have found that adding biodegradable red and green colored sugar, commonly found in supermarkets, works great!  (no glitter as it lasts for years!!!)

Simply shake a small amount onto the snow where you will step next, and step into the color.  Experiment with color combos and have fun!

What kind of snow works best?

Different snow (wet or dry, deep or shallow) will have an impact on your footprints.  With super sticky wet snow, you may have to lightly spray on a vegetable oil such as Pam, to the bottom of the prints, so that they do not stick to the snow.

Experiment a little bit in the side yard, before you make your Santa tracks up the main walkway!
